Join us for an afternoon learning about fireflies and how to preserve their habitats. Our program will begin with a film screening of the documentary film Brilliant Darkness: Hotaru in the Night. We will be joined by Avalon Owens, the Zoological Lighting Institute Scholarship for 2018, who will be talking about her work studying fireflies in Taiwan, and continuing with her research into fireflies and light pollution in the United States.
