Streetlight Master Plan
A Street Light Master Plan is an incredibly powerful tool in helping communities large and small make informed decisions about their municipal outdoor lighting. Even the most simple plan can guide citizen volunteers through their own Streetlight “Audit,” while well-thought out plans for major cities can guide good policy for decades. Public Utility Commission Policy Documents
The California Public Utilities Commission recently requested that San Diego Gas & Electric must develop a “Dimmable” streetlight tariff that incentivizes customers (i.e. municipalities) to use it (because it will save them money). The docket number is Decision 17-08-030, issued on August 25, 20187. The streetlight discussion begins on page 65.
